CINCUSAREUR

(February 11, 1923 – April 30, 2020)

During my 22 years of service, I had the distinguished opportunity to work as an Army Stenographer for General Frederick J. Kroesen, Commander in Chief, United States Army Europe & Seventh Army (CINCUSAREUR & Seventh Army). Sadly, he passed away on April 30, 2020, at age 97.

Working there was the best tour and time of my entire Army career. I was honored to be on the staff with other dedicated professionals. Our jobs consisted of taking care of General Kroesen at all levels. He was the epitome of what a senior Army officer should be. He was unselfish, caring, and one of the Army’s best officers. When General Kroesen left, General Glenn K. Otis took over as CINCUSAREUR & Seventh Army. I thoroughly enjoyed working for him, too.

In honor of these great men and senior Army officers, here are some highlights of my times on their staff.
